Week 2 Term 4 The Country Study will be introduced to all of Team 3 on Monday 19 October.
Time will be given in class to work on this study over 3 weeks. Task: To complete a research of a country of choice. (To be done as a booklet) YOU ARE NOT to print off a whole lot of internet pages for your booklet. You may use the internet for research but you use the information to write your own sentences and paragraphs. Books, talking to people, images, brochures, television programmes and family are all very helpful resources. Talk to people, ask them what they know and check it out.
Week 2 Monday 19 October 1. Inquiry Country Unit introduced by Mr Stewart. 2. Children select country they are to study and write on class list. (Class was given notice in Week 1 of topic and also given chance to look at set of books on various countries of the world from the National Library.) 3. Time given to start taking notes. 4. At ICT time all Room 10 children can find and print off a template of the flag for their country. Children to colour in.
A4 size Booklet of blank pages and lined refill. Can include colour pages. Booklet needs to include: 1. Name of country,your name. 2. Map of country, flag coloured in by children, 3. Fascinating Facts that include - population, capital city, money used, longest river, highest mountain, size of country, sea/oceans that surround country, very special land feature like a large lake or glacier or volcano or waterfall, other countries that share a border. 4. History and Famous People (see notes in classroom if your are unsure) 5. Weather 6. Customs, traditions and celebrations 7. Food and Drink 8. Dress 9. School 10.Other
